On June 18, 2022, GrieveWell will host Ann Arbor’s only kite festival in-person at Lillie Park from 1-4 PM. Register for the event in advance to assure yourself a parking spot and expedited entry to the event.
Join us this year as we celebrate the joy of the outdoors and the whimsy of kites. While early registration is encouraged, all are welcome and you will be able to register on site as well.

Professional kite flyers will be performing on the field at Lillie Park Central from 1-4 PM on June 18.

Pittsfield Township Parks and Recreation Pittsfield Township Parks and Recreation is delighted to partner with GrieveWell for their Annual Kite Festival! Join us for rock painting where you can share a message of hope, a memory of a loved one, or whatever lifts your heart (supplies available on a first come, first serve basis). All painted rocks will dry in a designated area for you to pick up at the end of the event. SCRAP Creative Reuse is a non-profit dedicated to creative recycling and upcycling of materials that were headed for the landfill. We are thrilled to partner with Grievewell for their Kite Festival this year! SCRAP will have a variety of materials that can be assembled and glued onto your Kite Poster or Flyer on site. Collage papers, glittery things, ribbons and stickers will all be available for everyone to decorate your kite or make a kite tail. We will also have some kits for purchase that include collage packs, kite tail makers and more! Fit4Mom is excited to provide an active movement obstacle course at the Kite Festival. We will set up lots of fun ways to get your bodies moving for all ages. GrieveWell invites artistic K-8 students to participate in our annual kite coloring contest!
We invite all the creative students to submit their decorated kites digitally and share the voting link with family and friends. Anyone in kindergarten through 8th grade can submit their artwork, and we will again be working with local schools and summer camps to make submissions as well.
Help us raise awareness about GrieveWell and have a chance to win gift cards for yourself and your school!
Create a Changes Kite to explore the unique change you have experienced after a loss. This activity is provided by Ele’s Place.
$5 – Purchase a Frustrationless Flyer Kite Kit, easy to build and fly for any age. Kite kits will be available for curbside local pickup and at the Kite Festival at Lillie Park on June 18.

Join us for an in-person Fly and Remember Memorial Service hosted in partnership with GrieveWell, Arbor Hospice, and Ele’s Place.
We believe kites are a great representation of the special bond we keep with loved ones we have lost. This year participants will build and decorate a kite in memory of a loved one, engage in featured readings from special guests, and share memories during a pre-festival event on Saturday, June 18 from noon to 1 pm.

All participants are invited to stay and enjoy the the Sixth Annual GrieveWell Kite Festival. From 1 – 4 pm, you can join in on the festival activities, watch professional kite performances and fly your kite at one of the best kite flying locations in the area. All events take place at Lillie Park in Pittsfield Township.
