Exploring our grief through poetry with Kyunghee Kim
Kyunghee Kim is a Korean American poet, author, life coach, and certified yoga and mindfulness teacher residing in Michigan. She believes that stories have the power to bring connection and compassion. Poetry is very personal to Kyunghee. She found poetry during a season of deep grief and it has allowed her to find solace. We know writing can be therapeutic for many of us, whether it’s journaling or through a writing prompt and in this workshop, Kyunghee will walk you through how poetry can offer a space for us to explore our grief. This one hour workshop will consist of the following: brief breath meditation, what is poetry and how it can be a tool to be curious about our grief, guided poetry writing prompts, individual time to write a poem, and ending with reflections/questions/comments. No prior poetry experience necessary. To learn more about Kyunghee, visit kimkyunghee.com.
This is not a therapy session. This is a safe space for those grieving to explore another avenue to release, be curious about, and sit with their grief through writing. Participants will need to bring a notebook or paper, writing utensil, and a comfortable and quiet space.
A Zoom link will be sent once you register.
