Exploring our grief through poetry with Kyunghee Kim
Kyunghee Kim is a Korean American author, writing coach for aspiring writers, and a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher residing in Michigan. Poetry is very personal to Kyunghee. She found poetry during a season of deep grief and it has allowed her to find solace. We know writing can be therapeutic for many of us, whether it’s journaling or through a writing prompt and in this workshop, Kyunghee will walk you through how poetry can offer a space for us to explore our grief.
This one hour workshop will consist of the following: brief breath meditation, what is poetry and how it can be a tool to be curious about our grief, guided poetry writing prompts, individual time to write a poem, and ending with reflections/questions/comments. No prior poetry experience necessary. To learn more about Kyunghee, visit www.kyungheekim.com.
This is not a therapy session. This is a safe space for those grieving to explore another avenue to release, be curious about, and sit with their grief through writing. Participants will need to bring a notebook or paper, writing utensil, and a comfortable and quiet space.
A Zoom link will be sent once you register.
