SUMMARY:Exploring our grief through art with Kathleen Buday
DESCRIPTION:\nNavigating Grief through the Holidays\n\nJoin us as we explore creative ways to help process the complex emotions that may arise during the holiday season after a loss. You will be guided through a simple activity that invites conversation and connection. No art experience required – just a willingness to explore and express.\nParticipants will need: 2-3 sheets white drawing paper (ideally 11×14, but letter-sized paper will suffice), assorted art supplies such as oil pastels or crayons, markers, colored pencils, pencil or pen, collage materials, scissors, a glue stick (or glue), and a comfortable, quiet space.\nThis workshop is FREE to attend but registration is required. Buday, MEd, ATR-BC.\nKathleen is a board-certified art therapist and sole proprietor of Healing with Heart in Michigan. She has practiced for over 20 years with diverse populations including adults with HIV/AIDS, hospice patients and families, youth, adults coping with cancer, and bereaved individuals.\nThrough her work, Kathleen has promoted the value of the arts as a means of expression for all ages and abilities. She has witnessed how images have a unique non-threatening way to connect people and provide insights into our similarities as human beings. It has become her passion to help others to feel seen and heard, and to heal.\nKathleen publishes and presents on the topic of art therapy.
