SUMMARY:Exploring our grief through art with Kathleen Buday
DESCRIPTION:\nCreative Coping\n\nConnect with others who are grieving while you use creativity as a means to reflect on feelings, thoughts and experiences. You will be guided through a simple activity that invites conversation and connection and helps to build resiliency. No artistic experience is necessary—just a willingness to explore and express.\nParticipants will need: 2-3 sheets white paper (ideally 11×14 or larger, but letter-sized printing paper will suffice); colored media, such as oil pastels, crayons, colored pencils; pencil or pen, and any other media you like!  You will also need a comfortable, quiet space.\n\nThis workshop is FREE to attend but registration is required. A Zoom link will be sent once you register. ( https://grievewell.nationbuilder.com/grief_art_may2025 ) This is not a therapy session. This is a safe space for those grieving to explore another avenue to release, be curious about, and sit with their grief through art.\n\nVisit us at www.grievewell.com ( http://www.grievewell.com/ ) for more online events ( https://grievewell.com/calendar/ ) and resources ( https://www.grievewell.com/resources/ ).\nMore about the workshop facilitator: This workshop will be facilitated by Kathleen M. Buday, MEd, ATR-BC.\nKathleen is a board-certified art therapist and sole proprietor of Healing with Heart in Michigan. She has practiced for over 20 years with diverse populations including adults with HIV/AIDS, hospice patients and families, youth, adults coping with cancer, and bereaved individuals.\nThrough her work, Kathleen has promoted the value of the arts as a means of expression for all ages and abilities. She has witnessed how images have a unique non-threatening way to connect people and provide insights into our similarities as human beings. It has become her passion to help others to feel seen and heard, and to heal.\nKathleen publishes and presents on the topic of art therapy. She’s currently an adjunct professor for Wayne State University’s Art Therapy Program. To learn more about Kathleen visit www.kathleenbuday.com ( http://www.kathleenbuday.com/ ).\n
